Well, I still didnt manage to get into my hide this weekend, Jack who sleeps for 2/3 hours in an afternoon at the weekend religiously decided to have a few days off doing that this weekend However, I did have time to look at our garden and start thinking of what to do with props to get some more natural looking shots. Couple of species we get in a lot that I would like some good shots of are Jays and Woodpeckers we also get the occasionl nuthatch and would quite like to capture some of the field mice ....... So any prop ideas or posts of the props or sneaky techniques you are using? Any discoveries on what foods the birds are most drawn to etc?

I like Jays. I think they are lovely birds with jungle like face make up

I've heard that woodpeckers are drawn to peanut butter smeared into the bark of a tree. I'd try it myself but the stuff gets eaten by my robbing little 'magpies' within minutes of opening the jar!

Thanks for the suggestions people. Peanut butter seems to attract allsorts doesnt it? From badgers, to mice, squirrels, woodpeckers, magpies...... might get chance to play with some props this weekend and if I'm really fortunate it might be nice enough to give them a proper test
